I set up a small i-gate using Hamtronics R303 receiver on 144.39MHz, feeding TNC-X (USB) through audio output, connected to Linux-Mint 17 laptop running XASTIR. I got all the pieces to play together for a test run in January 2017, reporting to APRS Tier 2 network, noam.aprs2.net, as KC7HP-10.
I want to use this locally to test an original RTRAK beacon, which never seems to get picked up by existing digipeater/i-gates in Seattle area. Is the RTRAK working correctly? The MX-146 Transmitter only puts out 500mW, maybe my simple Smiley 2M antenna is not efficient enough.
